MODEL FAQ
Hello there! I'm excited to see you're interested in working together. I like to make sure everyone I work with is very well informed. Hopefully this page will help answer any of the main questions you may have. If you have still have more, don't hesitate to ask!
-
Where will the videos end up?How the process works: we give the content we create to our agencies and then THEY host on their site and/or market to companies. Therefore, we actually don't know who purchases our content unless we happen to come across it online. Most of our content ends up in lifestyle commericials. A few recognizable brands, as examples, that we've seen license our content: Bank of America, Citizen Watches, Bath and Body Works, ABC, and New York Life.
-
How long do the shoots usually take?Typically we shoot in 4 hour blocks. The first time, however, we'll typically work with you for 1-2hrs. Think of this as a working interview.
-
How much do I get paid? While this varies, typically we work with someone on a first time basis at a rate of $20-30/hr. The shoot will last between 1-2 hours. You can think of this as a working interview. If everyone (included you) decides this is a good fit, we'll schedule you in a future shoot where we'll pay any where from $50-$100/hr and up. NOTE: We also offer building portfolios for those wanting to get starting in modeling. This means that instead of having to pay $thousands in shooting and editing, we can work with you a trade basis, giving you a very polished reel of photos and videos in different genres. This turns out giving you more value than if we were to just pay you for the same amount of time. We can share a couple examples of those we've built, if that's of interest to you.
-
Do I need previous modeling experience? No! You'd be interested to know that MOST of the people we work with the first time hadn't done any modeling or acting before.
-
Will I need to talk? Will I need to act?The final clips contain NO audio, so no, you will not be asked to talk on be interviewed on camera part of the shoot. As far as acting, mostly what we are looking are people who can be themselves; be authentic, and genuine. If there is "acting" involved, perhaps it will be subtley acting out different emotions, such as being stressed, happy, or thinking deeply.

Why do I need to sign a release?A release gives us permission to: 1. Capture you in photos or video 2. Distribute the content and license it to companies 3. Removes the obligation between us other than what we've agreed upon. E.g. You will not obligated to give us anymore of your time than we agreed upon. Releases your interest in the property, meaning: what you are compensated for the shoot is in total what we owe you. Here's the language of the release if you'd like to read before your shoot: For Consideration herein acknowledged as received, and by signing this release I hereby give the Photographer / Filmmaker and Assigns my permission to license the Content and to use the Content in any Media for any purpose (except pornographic or defamatory) which may include, among others, advertising, promotion, marketing and packaging for any product or service. If I see my clip in a big commerical, does that mean you were paid a lot of money?"Probably not. While there are some special licensing deals that can happen, mostly companies purchase our clips for a modest price or pay our agency a subscription. For example, one of clips ended up in McDonald's campaign and we made $50.
